The story of BISEKA is one deeply intertwined with Sri Lanka’s heritage of healing. It began in 1973 with the establishment of Ruwan Pharmaceutical Industries by the late Dr. D.C. Ruwanpathirana, a visionary Ayurvedic practitioner and the first Medical Officer at the Nawinna Ayurvedic Research Institute. After dedicating his life to the study and practice of indigenous medicine, Dr. Ruwanpathirana retired from state service and committed himself fully to developing effective, natural remedies for the people of Sri Lanka.
Under his leadership, Ruwan Pharmaceutical Industries became one of the country’s first Ayurvedic manufacturing companies, producing safe, herbal formulations backed by both tradition and scientific insight. However, after his passing, the business operations came to a halt. But the spirit of his mission lived on through his son, who spent over a decade studying his father’s original formulas and reviving the knowledge passed down through generations.
In honor of this legacy, BISEKA was born — a reimagined brand with a focus on holistic skincare and haircare rooted in Ayurvedic tradition. Every product in the BISEKA range is a testament to the passion, knowledge, and dedication of Dr. Ruwanpathirana. What began as a father’s dream is now a trusted name in herbal wellness, certified by the Ministry of Indigenous Medicine and loved by thousands across Sri Lanka.
Today, BISEKA stands not only as a brand but as a bridge between past and present preserving the ancient healing wisdom of Ayurveda and delivering it in pure, handcrafted form for modern-day self-care.
